The Hampton Festival 2023 is celebrating its twentieth Anniversary with a day for the whole family to enjoy and remember! The celebrations will run from gates opening at 9.30am-4pm this coming Sunday, 21st May.
Under the clear, crisp Autumn skies and the iconic blue gums at Chapman Park on the New England Highway at Hampton, there will be the regular features that visitors have enjoyed over many years, but also a host of new entertaining activities to cater for all ages. This is truly a family festive occasion.
Central to its twenty years of festivities showcasing the High Country, the Art Exhibition draws hundreds of exhibitors and patrons eager to nominate their favourite piece in the prestigious People’s Choice Award. 2023 will be no exception – the quality and range of entries, and artistic wares are second to none in the region.
Apart from the stalls selling outstanding local produce grown in this temperate climate, throughout the day there will be the Growers on the Green demonstrations showing how the more unusual fruits and vegetables can be turned into delicious dishes or alternate products. Each year the creativity and flavours amaze the senses.
When these demonstrations turn the senses to eating, the range of local and international food choices, as well as locally produced adult brewery and distillery beverages, will tempt tastes for both young and old. Catching the convenient free bus shuttle from Toowoomba or Crows Nest will allow plenty of leisure time for tasting what’s on offer.
Family picnics and relaxing to the strains of the musical variety make for a laid-back time. 2023 sees the evergreen favourites The Hobsons return, and buskers and main stage performers Helen Pearson, Blues Excuse and Kim McCartin on the day will be catering to the musical tastes of the visitors.
This year the Festival offers special entertainment for children in the form of Yoga for Kids, Noticing Birds Around Australia and learning about Bees as well as tasting samples and fresh produce to grow young tastebuds. A genuinely family friendly day out, topped off by the picturesque drive from nearby centres, makes this an annual visit enjoyed across the generations.
All roads lead to the Hampton Festival this Sunday, and the program, site map and bus schedules are available to help you plan your day and celebrate this special 20th Anniversary milestone. Purchase tickets online at here.
