HIGH COUNTRY EVENTS AT LOCAL VENUES

A range of food & art related workshops will be held on Saturday. Prior booking is required.  Come and try one of these great activities:

HAMPTON ART EXHIBITION OPENING AND PREVIEW

FREE ENTRY  and OPEN from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. 

The Hampton Art Exhibition preview and opening takes place at Chapman Park, Hampton.  Artists, guests and the general public are invited to join us as we celebrate the preview. Light refreshments will be served.

The  USQ Artsworx Bursary, Hampton Art Exhibition Hangers prize and the Year 6 Student prize will all be announced at the opening.

The Hampton Art Exhibition is open all day on Sunday 19 May as part of the HAMPTON FESTIVAL from 9.30am - 4.00pm.

Taste superb, locally made food, wine and sample specialty craft beers , pick up some gourmet ingredients from the marketplace, watch our artists in residence create masterpieces or simply kick back in the shade of our majestic blue gums and enjoy the great live music and the unique atmosphere of our high country village.

We are bringing the beach to you in Hampton!

Steve Machell, well know for his amazing sand sculptures, will be producing a stunning masterpiece during the Hampton Festival - all carved from 3 cubic metres of sand and inspired by our local region. We can’t wait to see what the masterpiece will be!

*growers on the green

The Growers on the Green precinct showcases our local farmers and food producers. Stop in and hear the wonderful paddock to plate stories direct from the farmer themselves and take home some their product. Farmer talks and demonstrations will be held on the Growers on the Green stage throughout the day.

The Community Produce stall will feature a range of fresh produce picked just down the road!

*children’s activities

Fun Food for Children workshop - Fun Food is an interactive and fun cooking session for children of all ages. Your children will love this opportunity to be a 'chef' and prepare a tasty & nutritious snack that they will then get to enjoy eating.  Sessions are held throughout the day.  

Sand Sculpture - Head to the Growers on the Green precinct and have a go at sand sculpting! It’s lots of fun!

Face Painting - Come and see Cleo the Clown and get your face painted in an awesome design!

Sand play and chalk drawing - Your children will enjoy the festival atmosphere and get creative in the sand play area and chalk drawing activitiy near the face painting.

The Hampton Festival provides an outlet for the work of both professional and up and coming visual, performance, vocal and craft artists.  Come along and see who won the USQ Artsworx Bursary for 2019 and the Hampton Art Exhibition Hangers prize.

The Hampton Art Exhibition is OPEN FROM 9.30AM TO 4.00PM  

The exhibition continues to offer a wonderful opportunity for prominent and emerging artists living within a 50km radius of Hampton to present their work to an audience of thousands.
