Cooking Demonstrations Are Set To Sizzle

Alastair McLeod and Matt Golinski, two of Queensland's top chefs, will be serving up a double treat on Festival day.

Regulars on TVs Ready Steady Cook, and great mates, Alastair and Matt will present three lively cooking demonstrations throughout the day. Both are champions of seasonal produce, and will entertain with their cheeky banter and exceptional cooking skills.

Born on the Sunshine Coast, Matt's career began as an apprentice in Brisbane. For a number of years he travelled and worked in food establishments around the world before returning to take up the position of executive chef at Ricky Ricardo's in Noosa.

With several awards to his name Matt now co-owns and operates a catering company, The Rolling Dolmade, which also produces a range of middle eastern style antipasto sold at gourmet food markets around Queensland.

Alastair McLeod is executive chef at Brett's Wharf in Brisbane. Many will recognise his delightful Irish accent from Ten's Ready Steady Cook program.

Prior to arriving in Australia, Alastair was chef at a number of Michelin listed restaurants in Europe including Roscoffs in Ireland and Da Giovanni in Torino, Italy. He also worked at one of Scotland's finest restaurants, the Ubiquitous Chip in Glasgow, and La Fregate - 17/20 Gault Milau in France.

These two talented chefs will be using in-season produce sourced solely from the local area. Many of their ingredients will be available from the market and produce stalls at the Festival. For details on their presentation times, visit our Festival Program.
