Jazz Diva Grace Knight to perform at Hampton Festival
The tiny escarpment village of Hampton is set to come alight this May with an evening of emotive songs performed by one of Australia's leading jazz divas, Grace Knight. The intimate concert, held in conjunction with the popular Art Exhibition Opening, will kick off festivities for the village's annual Hampton Food and Arts Festival. Organisers are excited to attract a performer of world class talent.
"Many people would be familiar with Grace from her days with 80's band the Eurogliders," said Festival Entertainment Coordinator, Michelle Fielding, "but her reputation really took off following the ABC mini series Come in Spinner." Knight played a jazz singer in the series and the accompanying soundtrack album, recorded with fellow jazz musician Vince Jones, became a huge hit. The singer now performs her beautifully crafted collection of songs in captivating live shows across Australia and internationally.
"Grace is excited about headlining the Festival and we're thrilled to be able to present such a wonderful performer," said Fielding.
Grace Knight will perform at the Hampton Festival on Saturday the 15th of May from 7.30pm, following the free Art Exhibition Opening starting at 5pm. Organisers are encouraging concertgoers to make a night of it, with a licensed bar and selection of fine food catering to both events from 6pm.

Bus Queensland Toowoomba will operate a free bus service connecting Toowoomba and Highfields to the Festival site at Chapman Park, Hampton (cnr New England Highway and Hampton-Esk Road). Range Charter Coaches will also offer a free service from Crows Nest. Seats for the bus must be pre-booked at the time of purchasing tickets.
