By introducing an assessment model two years ago the Hampton Festival has been able to monitor its impact on the environment and work towards reducing its carbon footprint. The 2009 Festival recorded a reduction of its carbon footprint by 206kg of CO2. This 11% reduction over the previous year was achieved most significantly in the area of electricity consumption (46% reduction) and water use (19% reduction per patron).
The Festival organisers are committed to continuing to reduce the event's impact on the environment and encourage patrons and stallholders to do their bit to help.
